Giedrius Rimkus

Now, in 2026, I build web apps and back offices in Ruby on Rails, ship them as iPhone and Android apps, and add AI where it saves your team time.

I’m Giedrius Rimkus, in Vilnius, with 15+ years of building software. Tell me what you need built; a few lines is plenty.

  1. Now, in 2026, I build web apps and back offices in Ruby on Rails, ship them as iPhone and Android apps, and add AI where it saves your team time.
  2. In 2025 I co-found Y.O.D.O., a side project I build alone: check-ins and sealed messages, a Rails 8 web app with iPhone and Android apps.
  3. In 2024 I start my own company, Wise Apps Lab, and build, part-time, an AI assistant for FL Technics staff that answers from the company’s own knowledge.
  4. From 2017 to 2023 I’m at Kesko Senukai Digital, behind three national web shops: Senior Backend Developer from 2017, Head of Engineering from 2020.
  5. From 2014 to 2016 I write Ruby on Rails full time: at Vinted, then from October 2014 at Drooms, living in Frankfurt, and from May 2015 at PlateCulture.
  6. In 2012 and 2013 I’m at tripsta, and building a rally team manager game of my own in Ruby on Rails.
  7. From 2009 to 2011 I’m at tripsta, on a ferry ticket reservation system. I joined in 2009 as a PHP intern; I’ll leave as team lead of a small ferry team.
  8. From 2004 to 2008 I’m studying informatics in Šiauliai and building websites and web shops in PHP, floravitas.lt among them.

Back to now

That was 2004. Here’s what I’m building now. After that, next is yours.

Side project, co-founded in 2025

Y.O.D.O.

One-tap check-ins and sealed messages. You check in daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly. If a check-in isn’t confirmed, the people you trust are told after a buffer. Private messages are sealed and reach the people they’re for only after a passing is confirmed and verified.

I’m the Technical Co-Founder and its only engineer. It’s a Rails 8 web app with iPhone and Android apps built on it with Hotwire Native, with subscription billing, encryption of personal data, and automated tests and deploys from day one. It launched in 2026 at yodo.ltd.

Client work

Floravitas

A flower shop. I’m building it a web shop with delivery by city and day, an iPhone app, and the back office where the shop runs its day: the orders board and the courier sheet.

The customer and the florist look at the same orders from opposite ends. Pick one to see their screen.

The Floravitas shop on an iPhone, in Lithuanian: delivery to Vilnius, and gifts by occasion
The Floravitas back office: today’s orders grouped by delivery time, with demo customers

Real screens; the customers in them are demo data.

My own app

Tunebird

An iPhone tuner for guitar and ukulele, made by my company, Wise Apps Lab. It’s free to tune with, and Tunebird Full is a one-time purchase. No ads, no account, and it works offline. It’s launching soon at tunebird.app.

Swipe the phone sideways, or pick a screen.

In a team

JustBid

An auction and deals platform in the US. Through Wise Apps Lab I’m one of a team of Rails developers on it. I built and look after scheduled pickups, where customers book a time to collect from the warehouse, plus invite-a-friend, card payment improvements, and order management and admin features.

In 2027 I’m building

The years stop at now. Next is yours: tell me what you need built, or which part of your team’s day you’d hand to a machine. A few lines is plenty.
